Tournament Rules

Entry Fee must be paid prior to arriving at park. No Money! No Play!
  • Only 3 Coaches in the dugout at any time, players only.
  • Field Tournament director can shorten or reschedule games at their discretion
  • All teams MUST be ready to play 35 minutes prior to scheduled time
  • 1 hour 45 minutes time limit on 6 inning games (12U and below--except MP 1.5 hrs)
  • 2 hour time limit on 7 inning games (ages 13 and up)
  • No time limit on Championship Games
  • International tie breaker rules will apply in all age groups
  • Home team decided by coin flip prior to each game (POOL PLAY AND ROUND ROBIN ONLY)
  • Home team is the official book, visitors please check each inning to confirm stats (SCORE CARD OFFICIAL AND FINAL)
  • No pre-game infield
  • Bring your own team water
  • All balls will be provided
  • Pitching rules are for a 2 day event-see USSSA pitching chart for questions (review multiple day pitching "state event")
  • Pitching innings are recorded by 1/3, 2/3, etc.
  • Running for catcher and pitcher allowed as per USSSA handbook rules
  • Concessions will be available at each field location-where available
  • Each team needs a runner for all foul balls, return to home plate official
  • If time limit expires during the bottom half of an inning and the home team is winning, the game is complete at that time and will be stopped
  • If a pitchers has started the game and then removed from that position, he may not return to the pitching position during the same game
  • Teams may NOT share players in the same weekend.  Players being shared by 2 or more teams will produce a 7-0 forfeit and the game will be stopped
  • MP - One umpire per game, Umpire to run machine
  • MP - 20 foot foul ball mark, 30 foot safety mark
  • MP - NO base running to entice over throws, play is stopped when ball is dead
  • MP - Fouled 3rd strike is a foul even if it is the 6th pitch (foul until you hit or KO)
  • MP - Remember--TEACHING and LEARNING
  • MP - Max 7 runs per inning, even in last inning
  • MP - Machine Settings 9/3/3-4 (38-40 MPH) Settings may vary depending on machine
  • MP - Teams may bat 10 players or the entire line up with subs (just like regular baseball line ups)
  • MP - 6 inning game or 1.5 time limit
  • MP - Machine distance to back of plate is 42'
  • 5 Pitches per batter
Slaughter Rules:
  • 6 inning game is 15 runs after 3 innings and 8 runs after 4 innings of play
  • 7 inning game is 15 runs after 3 innings and 12 runs after 4 innings and 8 runs after 5 innings of play
  • 20 runs after 2 innings of play in all age groups
