THE BRACKETS FOR THE CHRISTIANSBURG CURE FOR CANCER AND THE 18U COMBINED CCFC/STATE WILL BE POSTED THURSDAY MORNING. TEAMS MAY STILL REGISTER FOR PLAY UP TO 8:00PM WEDNESDAY NIGHT 6/19/2013. WE NEED 1 10U TEAM FOR THE EVENT TO MAKE, WE CAN TAKE 1 12U AND 1 13U. ALL AGES ARE 4 GAME GUARANTEE WITH FULL DIVISIONS.
Thanks to all localities, teams, officials, and site directors for a fine weekend! Over 120 games scheduled on 14 fields and 8 new Champions! The www.usssa.com site will update all standings by midnight on Monday. Teams that finished 3rd in age classes where a 3rd/4th place game was not played but determined by record, tie breakers, etc. those teams will be notified by Roanoke USSSA and those CCG awards will be delivered to each team! A complete listing of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers is posted HERE.
The VA Elite Championship being played June 29,30 will now be played as a 2 day event only with reduced entry fees and no gate fees. There are limited spots avaialble so enter now!
Firecracker Challenge 14u, 15u and 16u will play a 4 GG 5 team round robin format on July 6,7 at area HS fields in Roanoke. Entry fee is $350.00 each team. Each age group is limited to 5 teams only!

In order to withdraw from an event, a team MUST email Scott or Mike 7 days prior to that event (14 days prior to NIT, World Series and all State Events. This policy has been in place for almost a year now, IT WILL BE ENFORCED FROM THIS POINT MOVING FORWARD. TEAMS THAT DROP OUT OF AN EVENT FOR ANY REASON THE WEEK OF THE EVENT WILL BE HELD TO THE ENTRY FEE AMOUNT FOR THAT EVENT-NO EXCEPTIONS!!

MLB/USSSA Rule Change!!
Coaches-Be aware that the MLB has changed the rule on the attempted pick off play at 1st base where the pitcher fakes a thow to 3rd and then throws back to first. This will be called a BALK beginning with 3/1/2013 events and all other USSSA events. Of course a pitcher can do this as long as he is not in contact with the rubber.

Hotel Reservations
We have been asked by local areas to have teams stay near the complexes they are scheduled to play in when possible. Economic impact information for events is measured each week and one of the biggest ways is thru the number of "heads on beds" in the each county area. Please complete the check in form for each event in detail. Thanks for the efforts.
USSSA Team Classifications
Coaches: When registering your team thru the national site, please keep in mind the following for classification questions. All Roanoke USSSA events are sanctioned Open and AA. Teams may be combined to make an event work in certain age classes, we try to keep all classed teams paired together when available. We guarantee 3 games each weekend and last year we were able to do 4 games to each team most weekends--depending on field availability. (It is harder at the 14u and above class unless we play a 4GG Round Robin Format.) We will continue to do the same this year. Be sure to note the Roanoke USSSA Rewards Program as well.
Major-The most elite class, primarily made up of players from different areas, the best competition level; AAA- Extremely competitive class, typically a team here has won at least 2 event in the same season, roster made up of players from different areas or a roster that has not changed very often, AA-this is the entry level class, rosters made up of area players from usually the same area or community. Majority of teams fall into this class. A-We do not have any teams playing in this class, Recreation-Teams comprised of recreational players.
